Specialization, Training & Experience

Hi, I’m Olga Shchedrinskaya.

I am a clinical counsellor specializing in couples and family therapy. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and maintain two professional designations:

  • Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #17658)

  • Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC #10004461)

These credentials allow me to support clients across Canada. I am also a registered ICBC vendor, and I can accept direct payments from ICBC.

Since 2009, I have worked in a range of settings, including non-profit organizations, mental health clinics, and private practice. I work with youth, adults, couples, and families on issues such as:

  • Stress, anxiety, and depression

  • Grief and loss

  • Parenting and attachment

  • Identity and life transitions

  • Loneliness and isolation

  • Communication and conflict

  • Relationship challenges

I support children and adolescents with ADHD, emotional regulation, fears, anger, and self-esteem issues. I also help couples with premarital concerns, infidelity, conflict, separation, and multicultural or immigration-related stressors.

Approach to Therapy

My work is grounded in Family Systems and Attachment Theory, and I integrate a range of evidence-based methods, including:

  • Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy

  • Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy

As a trauma-informed therapist, I also incorporate mindfulness-based and expressive arts therapies when appropriate.

I have extensive experience providing remote counselling to clients in the U.S., Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Israel, Russia, Turkey, Latvia, and beyond.

My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, and I welcome clients of all racial identities, gender identities, sexual orientations, countries of origin, religions, body sizes, and abilities.

Therapy Philosophy

I believe that everyone has the capacity for change and growth. Counselling offers a space for hope, reflection, and new perspective during life’s inevitable transitions.

As a relational therapist, I collaborate with individuals, couples, and families to:

  • Discover strengths and resources

  • Understand emotional patterns and needs

  • Explore values, beliefs, and relationship dynamics

Therapy is a chance to reconnect with yourself and others, and to find meaning and resilience in the face of life’s challenges.

"Counselling is an invitation to come and be; to take an honest look at yourself for who and what you really are; to realize your issues make sense; and to have compassion for all parts of you so you can function at your full potential."

Who I Work With

Many of the clients I support are seeking to:

  • Create balance and harmony in their lives

  • Connect with inner resources

  • Take initiative and responsibility for change

  • Develop emotional regulation skills

  • Improve communication and relationship dynamics

  • Better understand their family systems

My Counselling Style

Clients describe my style as warm, attentive, and engaging. I strive to build a therapeutic relationship based on trust, respect, and genuine connection.

My focus extends beyond our sessions—toward the meaningful changes you want to make in your life.

Together, we co-create a space for growth, insight, and transformation.
